Accident, Sickness and Unemployment/Redundancy cover (ASU) is designed to offer you a short term replacement for your income if you suffer from an illness or injury that prevents you from working, or if you are unfortunately made redundant.
Benefits are usually paid for either 12 or 24 months and the cover comes in a variety of forms including Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance, Income Payment Protection Insurance and Loan Payment Protection Insurance.
